IN AN effort to sustain a clean environment, especially in the national housing areas, the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Bukit Beruang yesterday morning organised a cleaning campaign within the vicinity of Kampong Bukit Beruang Community Hall.

The campaign, which had help from the village’s residents, was held to clear the overgrown grass and scattered garbage around the area.

Also present to take part in the campaign yesterday was the Village Head of Bukit Beruang, Ahmad bin Aman.

According to the Secretary of Kampong Bukit Beruang Village Consultative Council, the cleaning campaign will continue today at Sayyidina Othman Secondary School and at other times include the main roads along Kampong Bukit Beruang and Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme.

He hoped that such efforts will help ease the government’s burden in keeping the village clean as well as fostering unity and cooperation amongst members of the village consultative council.

It is also hoped that more residents will volunteer to take part in the campaign in the near future, as it will be held as part of the village’s weekly activity.
