A cleaner’s swift action in extinguishing a small fire has prevented the blaze from spreading in one of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s buildings recently.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), Azmie bin Md Suhaily from Syarikat Rentokil extinguished the electric fire on a fluorescent lamp by using the ABC Dry Powder 4.5 kilogramme fire extinguisher before the firefighters arrived.
Seven firefighters from the Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station led by SO Ishraqi bin Haji Sidup responded to the incident at 11.36am.
The cause of the fire and estimated damage are under investigation. No fatalities were reported.
