IT IS horrible to have your car stolen.
To make matters worse, is the fact that you would have to continue paying the monthly car loan instalments.
On top of this, the claim on the stolen car from the insurance company takes, on average, six months.
However in my case, I have been waiting for the claim for 10 months (at the time of writing this letter).
I am writing to complain about the officer-in-charge who is never in the office at the insurance company I go to.
He also does not answer my phone calls nor reply to my messages.
No one seems to want to assist. I was only told that the officer-in-charge would call me back – which never happened.
After paying almost BND3,000.00, there has not been any progress from the insurance company.
By April, the stolen vehicle would require new insurance.
This will cause the coverage to be lower than when it was first stolen.
This, in turn, would be a bigger loss for me.
Even now, the insurance coverage isn’t enough to compensate the entire loan after the new insurance policy is made.
I appreciate if the insurance company could speed up the progress and not take advantage of the situation by waiting for the insurance to be renewed.
The insurance company’s role is to protect their customers in the event of a mishap like this and not to take advantage of them.
