Civil servants recognised with state medals

Some 763 recipients from the Ministry of Development (MoD) and its departments received honourary state medals at a ceremony at the Conference Hall of BRIDEX Jerudong yesterday.

Minister of Development Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid presented medals to 247 recipients of the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) and 516 recipients of Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL).

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Muhammad Anuar bin Haji Bahar and proceeded with the presentation of medals to male followed by female recipients.

Also present at the event was Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the MoD Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Acting Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) Sr Dayang Hajah Norhayati binti Haji Mohd Yaakub and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Law) at the MoD Aldila binti Haji Mohamad Salleh as well as department, division and unit heads at the ministry.

Meanwhile, 231 officers and staff members at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and departments under it received state honourary medals on Wednesday in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour at the ceremony at the National Service Programme Training (PKBN) camp, Temburong.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Awang Shafrillah bin Haji Ahmad.

At the ceremony, 119 received the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) while 143 received Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL).

The ceremony concluded with recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara along with special Doa against COVID-19.
