    Civil servants receive state honours

    Hundreds of civil servants received state honours in recognition of their contribution yesterday, in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday celebration.

    Personnel from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) received the medals at separate ceremonies yesterday.

    Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman conferred the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) to some 375 personnel under MoRA, and Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) to 505 personnel, at the Tarindak D’Seni in the capital yesterday.

    Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, directors and senior officers were also present.

    Meanwhile, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah presented the state honorary awards to 204 personnel at the Banquet Hall, Bridex in Jerudong.

    A total of 101 individuals received the PIKB while 103 received the PKL, comprising MoFE personnel and officers including staff from the Office of His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight, Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) and government-linked companies.

    Minister of Home Affairs who was the former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, deputy ministers of finance and economy, permanent secretaries, heads of departments and officials at MoFE, the Office of His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight and BDCB attended the ceremony.

    At the PMO’s Banquet Hall, 388 personnel received the PIKB and 360 received the PKL yesterday from then-minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud.
