Carrying the theme ‘Spreading the Winning Vibes’, winners of the Crown Prince Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement (CIPTA) Award 2021 (CIPTA 2021) shared their experiences during a talk organised by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) at the International Convention Centre in Berakas on Friday.
The sharing session was held as part of the Digital Technology Week at Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE) initiated by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Deputy Head of the CIPTA 2021 Seminar Committee Siti Mazulianawati binti Haji Majid, followed by the presentations.
Winners of the Local Category 2 – Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology, with the projects titled ‘Smart Fish System- Water Quality Management System for Red Tilapia Rear in Poly Tank’, ‘Techsim’, ‘Effects of Local Plant Extracts to Preserve the Postharvest Quality’, and ‘Extend Shelf Life of Figs’ shared how they started their innovative projects.
A Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre student, who came in second in the Local Category 3 – Creating New or Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology by Young Inventors with ‘Poseidon’, shared his experience along with his invention journey.
The audience was also enlightened by the creativity behind the inventions of the ‘Smart Junior Category’ young winners, including first runner-up Lambak Kiri Secondary School for their Gen ‘Z’ Smart Trash Bin, and second runner-up Rimba Secondary School for their School Gizmo Watch project.
The three-day seminar series includes CIPTA 2021 Executive Seminar themed ‘Innovations for Society 5.0’, and CIPTA 2021 Forum themed ‘Driving the Innovation Ecosystem’.
Winning projects of the CIPTA 2021 will be showcased at the UTB Gallery from tomorrow.
