CHUNG Ching Middle School in Seria was filled with joy and laughter during the recent Music and Drama Night, attended by students, parents, guardians and teachers.
One of the highlights of the night was the Cinderfella play, which was a twist to the classical Cinderella fairy tale, with the roles of the main characters swapped.
Organised by the English Language Department, the performance saw 33 students and teachers spending the last six months rehearsing and perfecting their act.
Principal Dr Ang Sik Liong said, “The Music and Drama Night is just one of the ways in which we try to help the children realise their true potential, which is in line with the school’s mission of bringing out the uniqueness of each child.”
He also highlighted the importance of language and art, in helping build the foundation for colourful and meaningful life.
In addition to realising students’ true potential, the play helped instil a love for the English Language and build skills in leadership and teamwork.
Musical interludes as well as food and drinks filled in the gaps between the play.
The school hopes to hold another performance next year, to be handled by its Chinese Language Department.
