The Standing Committee Member of the 13th National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice-Chairman of the Committee of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of CPPCC National Committee Quan Zhezhu and delegation made goodwill visits to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) recently.
Quan’s visited MoHA to meet Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong at the Muhibbah Room of the MoHA building at Jalan James Pearce in the capital. He visited MoRA to pay a courtesy call on Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman at the Dhiyafah Room of the MoRA building.
The goodwill visits were aimed to strengthen ties between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China while sharing experiences in matters of importance between the two countries as well as exploring cooperation opportunities.
Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law) at the MoHA Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Salminan bin Haji Burut, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the MoHA Ajman bin Haji Meludin and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan were also present during the event at the MoHA.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang were present during the visit at the MoRA.
Quan and delegation were in Brunei Darussalam from November 14-17.
Member of CPPCC National Committee and member of Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of CPPCC National Committee Luo Liming; member of CPPCC National Committee and member of Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of CPPCC National Committee Hu Xuefeng; and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam Yu Hong were in the visiting delegation.
The four-day visit also saw the delegation visiting places of interest in the country including the Legislative Council Hall, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School, Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre and Royal Regalia Museum.
