China’s trade with Myanmar increases 28.5pc in 2019

BEIJING (XINHUA) – China’s trade with Myanmar expanded by 28.5 per cent year on year in 2019 to CNY128.91 billion (about USD17.71 billion), customs data showed yesterday.

China’s exports to the country stood at CNY84.9 billion, up 22.1 per cent from the previous year, while imports surged 42.8 per cent to CNY44.01 billion, said official with the General Administration of Customs Huang Guohua at a press briefing.

The two sides will deepen cooperation in jointly building the Belt and Road and make progress in major projects of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, said Huang.
