BEIJING (XINHUA) – China’s textile industry posted robust growth in the first two months of the year, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) showed.
The added value of textile firms with annual operating revenue of at least CNY20 million (about USD3.06 million) climbed 33.1 per cent year-on-year, according to the MIIT.
The firms raked in CNY25.2 billion worth of profits, surging 139 per cent from the same period last year. Their combined operating revenue rose 35.8 per cent year-on-year to CNY625.6 billion.
In the January-February period, China’s online retail sales of clothing products went up 44.3 per cent year-on-year, while the country’s garment exports soared 50 per cent year-on-year to USD24.
