Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) assisted the less fortunate to prepare for the forthcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, said RB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid. He said this during a number of events held by RB during the holy month of Ramadhan including donations for orphans, Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and RB Family in Need project by RB’s Welfare and Religious Committees.
The series of events began with a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong on April 12.
Minister of Development and RB’s Chairman Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid attended the event.
Imam Haji Mohd Aduka bin Haji Abdul led the recitation.
On April 13, RB held a donation ceremony at the RB Campus for orphans of former RB employees.
Captain Sabirin attended the event with RB management and personnel.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. It was followed by the presentation of donations to 44 individuals by Captain Sabirin.
On April 14, the committee organised the RB Family in Need project, a fundraising and donation campaign for 18 selected members of RB’s current and former staff. Captain Sabirin and RB’s executive management team led the distribution of items.
RB’s Ramadhan activities concluded with a Khatam Al-Quran at Kampong Bang Dalam Mosque in Tutong District on April 19. Deputy Minister ( Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office and RB Deputy Chairman Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah participated. Members of RB Board of Directors, RB management and staff as well residents of Kampong Bukit Bang Dalam also attended.
Thirty RB staff participated in the Khatam Al-Quran led by RB Chief Operations Officer Haji Badarudin bin Haji Bagol.
Following the recitation, Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza presented Waqaf from RB staff to the mosque representatives.
