The 22nd Pusat Ehsan Charity Golf Tournament 2022 will be held at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club (PMGC) on September 30, October 1 and 2, according to organisers during a press conference yesterday.

Senior Trustee of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab said the tournament theme was ‘Perpetual Care’, which underscored the centre’s continued concern and dedication for the people with special needs.

He said the tournament’s main objective is to fundraise for the centre, a non-profit organisation which derives its funding from the community, adding that they are anticipating more than 250 golfers for this year’s tournament.

Chairman of the organising committee Seruji Haji Setia said the tournament is open to all golfers.

Those who want to compete in the tournament can sign-up at any time during the three-day event provided there are still slots.

At the same time, he added that the centre also welcomes any businesses and organisations to sponsor the event.

“Proceeds from the tournament will directly go to Pusat Ehsan, benefitting its students.”

He said the registration fee is BND100, and will include breakfast, lunch and buggy. The tournament will be conducted on the basis of ‘System 36 (Stroke Play)’. Attractive prizes await tournament winners, as well as special prizes from Hole-in-Ones and Bull’s Eye challenges.

The tournament also features The Patron’s Challenge Trophy.

On October 2, a Special Sunday Gross event will be conducted free of charge for 12 gross players vying for the Challenge Trophy.

For this year’s edition, the Singapore High Commission in Brunei Darussalam isone of the partners for the tournament, said a representative from the Singapore Association in Brunei Darussalam Melhan Adam.

Borneo Bulletin, Media Permata, Cityneon Displays and Construction Sdn Bhd; Pantai Mentiri Golf Club are event and media supporters.
