The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (Rotary Club BSB) held its 19th Rotary Charity Golf Tournament at RBA Golf Club yesterday, raising funds for the bursary awards to support academic studies of students, and to appreciate the best teachers and students.

In a ceremony held in April, the Rotary Club BSB awarded just over BND29,000 to support 15 students from four secondary schools, helping to reduce the financial burden on their families.

Schools nominated their best teachers for their commitment to excellence in education.

Recipients of the Best Teacher Award were Ho Ket Piau of Chung Hwa Middle School BSB, Chew Lai Kwan of St George’s School and Jishamol M Thomas of St Andrew’s School, while the Best Student Award was presented to Yong Shan Ren of Chung Hwa Middle School BSB, Clement Joshua Dev of St Andrew’s School and Nordelyn Suaverde Silvestre of St George’s School.

Schools nominated these students based on their impressive academic attainment, participation in extra curricular activities (ECA) and support of other students.

Rotary Club BSB thanked the sponsors and players for their support towards the Charity Golf Tournament 2021. “Rotary believes in Doing Good In The World. We hope to see you and have your support again for our next Rotary Charity Golf Tournament in 2022,” a statement said.
