MEMBERS of the Project Management 2018 of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) organised a two-day Charity Carnival in conjunction with the International Day for Eradication of Poverty at Seri Q-lap Mall Atrium, Kiulap during the weekend.

Acting Director of the Human Resource Development Division at the Ministry of Education Hajah Noridah binti Abdullah launched the event.

The event proceeded with a speech by Assistant Professor at UBD’s School of Business and Economics.

Visitors were treated to animal shows, entrepreneurship talks and mini indoor entertainment.

The aim of the carnival was to provide a platform for local businesses, especially online vendors, to gather and showcase products. It also served to raise awareness on issues of poverty in the country and contribute to the nation’s effort in poverty alleviation by working together with Bantu Services in raising funds.

Bantu Services is a non-profit organisation that addresses issues of household and child deprivation in Brunei. With its vision to eradicate poverty, the organisation takes a steady long-term approach and provides immediate assistance in the form of food, shelter and other basic necessities to the needy families.
