Local tug-of-war team Chainblock produced a good display in the regional scene after securing third place in the Labuan Open Tug-of-War Championship Series 2 held in conjunction with the Federal Territory of Labuan Day at the Labuan Water Sports Complex recently.
The local representative bagged a podium finish in the traditional category and fourth in the footwear category.
Rudal x Earthquake clinched the traditional title followed by runners-up Apachee while VAT69 reigned supreme in the footwear category, with Rudal x Earthquake and Gerambeat A placing second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, the under-23 category was won by Victorian A with Sinampuan Turtle settling as runners-up and Lirankom Tugger completing the podium.
Chainblock, who actively represents the country in the regional scene, could set their sights on the Limbang Open International Tug of War this November.
The team competed in the last edition of the meet where they snatched third place in the men’s open 720kg category. – Fadhil Yunus
