Belait Arabic School (SAB) held a Khatam Al-Quran to mark Family Day and foster closer ties between the school and families recently.
Headmistress Hajah Noramalina binti Haji Md Ali oversaw the ceremony, which involved 121 students from Years 5 to 8, 31 Junior Scouts from Scout Group 3036 and eight girls scouts.
Acting Assistant Headmaster Md Roselyzan bin Haji Sipin and the Junior Scouts led Surah Al-Fatihah, before Khatam participants recited verses of Al-Quran. A Tahlil and Doa Arwah were also held.
Hajah Noramalina presented certificates and sprinkled scented oil on the Khatam participants.
The ceremony was organised by the SAB Al-Quran and Amali Unit, together with students from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) – which continues to conduct their induction training course at the school.
The event aims to instil a love for reading Al-Quran.
