St George’s School yesterday morning ushered in the year of the Rabbit at its premises with an array of colourful performances to thrill its 800 students and staff.

The event was launched by Ong Tiong Oh and his spouse. Also in attendance were Chairman of the school’s Board Anthony Liew and his spouse, sponsors and parents. Principal Janidi Jingan in his welcoming remarks said, “The celebration is the school’s ongoing efforts to promote tolerance and understanding as well as respect among our students.

“This is because St George’s School is made up of various nationalities with different traditions, cultures and beliefs.

“The activities such as the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri aim to enhance understanding of cultures practised by your friends in school.”

“I hope that when you leave the school, you will appreciate, cherish as well as value the school that has taught you and remember the great times that you had”.

The highlight of the celebration was the distribution of red packets or ang pow to kindergarten students.
