Your creativity, technical expertise and willingness to embrace new challenges serves as an inspiration and is truly appreciated. Not only in shaping AITI but also the overall ICT sector in the country,” said Minister of Transport and Infocommunications as Chairman of AITI Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha during a Hari Raya Stakeholders Appreciation event at the Serambi Suluh Hall, Tarindak D’Seni to commemorate AITI 20th anniversary.
Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication (MTIC) Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) at the MTIC Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar. AITI’s members of Authority; representatives from the government agencies, government-linked companies, ICT industry and private organisations as the stakeholders of AITI were also present.
The event began with a welcoming remark by Chief Executive of AlTI Ir Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all its stakeholders who have supported AlTI to achieve significant milestones for the past 20 years, and played a major role in driving the development of the telecommunications and ICT industry.
This was followed by a speech by the minister where he highlighted the early beginnings of AITI and the changes and progress it has made.
Since its enactment on January 1, 2003, AITI has been responsible for performing regulatory functions for telecommunication systems and services, managing the national radio-frequency spectrum and protecting consumers’ interest by promoting competitive pricing.
