The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) issued a BND300 compound fine on an individual on Tuesday for disposing trash along the roadside leading to Meragang Beach.
Mohd Faroque Abdul Wahid was caught on CCTV of dumping trash and was issued a fine under Section 12(1)(d) Chapter 30 of the Minor Offences Act.
He is given seven days to settle the fine or be brought to court.
If found guilty, a further BND1,000 fine or a month’s imprisonment will be handed, while subsequent offences will see a penalty of BND3,000 fine or imprisonment of not more than three months.
