A car ended up in a drain yesterday after it skidded on a waterlogged road in the Belait District.
The wet spell has residents living near rivers and drains fearing for their safety due to crocodiles and other creatures that appear during high tide.
Farmers also worry about their crops.
Several low-lying areas in Belait were flooded on Tuesday night due to the heavy downpour. Affected areas included Kuala Belait, especially near the Belait River, Jalan Sungai, Jalan Tengah near Tudong Saji and Jalan Bunga Rambai.
The Belait District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) said the floods were due to heavy rainfall and slow retreat of water from the river.
The public and road users are advised to check the weather forecast issued by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) and take precautions.
