Car catches fire in Sungai Tilong, no injuries

A car caught on fire on Sunday at 12.43pm in Kampong Sungai Tilong, said the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) yesterday.

The FRD reported no injuries and said loss estimations and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. Two fire trucks, led by Acting Station Officer Haji Mohamad Noor bin Haji Ahad, were dispatched from Lambak Kanan Fire Station.

The fire was contained by personnel using one hose reel with water from the fire truck. The FRD advised the public to enhance knowledge on car fire safety and ensure all electrical wiring in their vehicles are installed by authorised workshops.

They are also advised to have at least one or two fire extinguishers in their vehicles and that vehicles older than seven years to have regular inspections. In the event of a fire, contact 995.
