Car catches fire in Jerudong

A vehicle was engulfed by a blaze in Jerudong early on Tuesday.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), two fire engines led by DSO Haji Mohamad bin Ibrahim from the Jerudong Fire Station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 3.23am. The firefighters controlled the fire within two minutes. No injury was reported and the cause is under investigation.

The FRD advised the public to always ensure their vehicles are in good condition. Drivers must ensure that modifications to the engine’s electrical system and car accessories must be in accordance with certain standards, said the FRD, adding that the high electric current of a vehicle could cause the cable to burn.
