German carmaker Volkswagen’s new compact SUV the T-Cross is set to capture the heart of those who love practicality or have young families, with its array of features, from space to convenience and safety.
Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, the importer of Volkswagen vehicles in Brunei Darussalam, recently hosted an exclusive media preview of the Volkswagen T-Cross.
According to Managing Director of Maju Motors Sdn Bhd Chan Key Hong, Brunei is one of the first countries to have the T-Cross available in the market in the region.
He highlighted the new model’s striking exterior and spacious interior, that is packed with smart features.
Powering the T-Cross is a 1.0L TSI engine producing 115hp and 200Nm of torque and is mated to an improved 7-Speed DSG, making every journey fun, smooth, and a safe driving experience.
During the preview, Maju Motors Sdn Bhd Sales Manager Mohammad Shahnon Azizan said that the subcompact SUV is marketed as a more practical and family-oriented car that is expected to appeal to young families due to its tall roof, spacious interior, large boot capacity, safety system, driving assist system and high-level driving position.
With the efficient engine that consumes only 5.2L of fuel per 100 kilometres and a 40-litre fuel tank, one can commute from Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait back-and forth four times with a full tank. The exterior features bold design features, distinguished by the large, broad radiator grille, with an integrated LED headlight and daylight running light, and fog lights with striking surrounds. The side looks very modern with the two horizontal slick designs, accompanied by the 17-inch rims. The rims come with various unique colour schemes such as energetic orange, bamboo garden green, and black.
For the rear exterior, a unique rear-end design with a rear reflector strip set in a black frame makes the car stand out more.
The overall design package comes in Black, Energetic Orange or Bamboo Garden Green.
Each design package comes with a unique interior colour scheme that will match well with the exterior look. For the interior design package, the T-Cross provides a comfortable fabric, sport-looking seats with unique colour-stitching on them to match with the interior look of the car.
The interior is also nothing less than exciting. Starting from the 10.25-inch high-resolution active info display cluster with modern progressive interface design, customers can choose between three selectable views according to their preferences and configure the additional information via the infotainment touchscreen.
Embedded in the dash panel is the eight-inch glass covered capacitive touchscreen with proximity sensor Infotainment unit, which includes all the modern-day connective necessities for example MirrorLink, Android Auto, Apple Car Play, and Bluetooth.
A phenomenal sound experience comes from the “Beats” premium sound system, with six special loudspeakers and subwoofer that have been specially configured for the T-Cross’ characteristics to produce a high-quality sound in the interior. A newly designed leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel can also be seen inside the T-Cross carrying the new Volkswagen logo, the steering houses a lot of features including voice control.
Gadgets can also be charged on the move with a convenient wireless charging tray or the USB-C ports to fast charge your devices, whether they are tablets to keep the kids entertained or working on the go.
Unlocking and locking the car has not been easier than with the KESSY System, where they keys just need to be around the body of the driver to unlock and lock the car. The Park Assist with Park Distance Control & Rear-view camera system is one of the many driving assistance systems available in the Volkswagen T-Cross R-line.
In terms of safety, six airbags including curtain airbags will ensure safety in case of an imminent crash and an Anti-Theft Alarm system ensures the car to be safe and sound.
The new T-Cross will be available to the public following it launching at the Mall in Gadong today.
