    Camp empowers future-ready youth

The Youth Camp 2024, organised by the Youth Wing of the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) hopes to equip participants with experience and knowledge, enabling them to face challenges as future-ready youth, MKM President Yusof Halim said.

He underscored this in his speech at the launch of the camp at the camping site of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) in Kampong Beribi, Gadong on Saturday.

Some 25 children from MKM clients will be exposed to various programmes throughout the three-day camp including religious activity, first aid, awareness on mental health, digital literacy programme and fitness activities in a challenging environment to instill teamwork, discipline and leadership spirits.

The programmes support the Day of Action campaign, serving as a platform to gather the community towards inculcating volunteering spirit.

The camp is assisted by over 43 volunteers from PPNBD, MKM and Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT).

Volunteers gain practical experience while strengthening solidarity culture in carrying out beneficial activities, shared the president.

Applauding the Youth Wing members for their dedication and hard work in organising the event, he also thanked the Project Coordinator Committee, PPNBD members and volunteers for helping to conduct the project. Chief Commissioner of Scouts Skip Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin attended as a representative of the PPNBD president.
