The Ministry of Health (MoH) is calling for eligible blood donors to come forward as Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre and other blood banks in the country are facing low stock levels. The public can book a slot for donation via the BloodKad application.
Blood banks are open Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays. The operating hours are: 8-11.30am and 1.30-4pm at RIPAS Hospital Blood Donation Centre; 8-11.30am and 1.45-3.30pm at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait; and 9-11.30am and 1.30-3.30pm at Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Hospital, Temburong District.
In response to the blood supply shortage, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) has collaborated with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) and the Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education (MoE) to hold blood donation drives to mark the 38th National Day celebration.
The Department of Co-Curriculum Education will hold a campaign at the Health Promotion Centre in Commonwealth Drive, Jalan Menteri Besar on March 7-8 from 9-11.30am, while the MPRT will hold a similar event at Tutong Youth Centre on March 10, from 9-11.30am.
Meanwhile, the MCYS will hold its campaign at the Kampong Pandan Language and Literature Bureau in Kuala Belait on March 12 and March 14, from 9-11.30am, while the MoHA will carry out its donation drive at the community hall of Temburong District on March 15, from 10am to 3pm.
