Call for tighter security at border checkpoints

I am writing to call for tighter security at Brunei Darussalam immigration posts, especially the Sungai Tujoh Immigration Post bordering Miri.

I am not a frequent traveller to Miri but I was surprised how easy it was to cross the border as there is a lack of inspection carried out at the control post.

The only document needed required to cross the border is a passport. From my observation, there is rarely any face scan to prove the identity of the passport holder.

Stricter law enforcement needs to be done to prevent cases of cross border trafficking.

It would be good to have joint roadblock operations between enforcement agencies.

The border authorities should follow the system implemented by the airport authorities such as a face scan and inspection of goods to prevent cases of trafficking.

I hope the authorities can look into this matter before it is too late and out of control.

Worried
