Local referees must strive towards enhancing their expertise and taking their own initiative to learn and attend courses, said National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Deputy President Haji Salleh Bostaman bin Haji Zainal Abidin.
He said this during the Class 3 Basic Football Referee course, organised by NFABD with the cooperation of the Belait District Football Association (PBDB) and the Brunei Darussalam Referee Association at the Mumong Sports Complex recently.
“With hard work, it is not impossible for participants to make refereeing a source of income and represent the country in regional and international tournaments,” Haji Salleh Bostaman said.
NFABD referee instructor Pengiran Haji Md Saiful Redzuan bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad conducted the course, assisted by Pengiran Kamal Arifin bin Pengiran Haji Salleh.
Haji Salleh Bostaman presented certificates to the participants.
PBDB President Pengiran Saiful Redzalli bin Pengiran Jaya Indera Pengiran Haji Mokhtar Puteh, NFABD Executive Committee member Pengiran Haji Aliudin bin Pengiran Haji Tajudin, PBDB Deputy President Morni bin Haji Zakaria, NFABD referee director Abdul Razak bin Anuar, and Brunei Darussalam Referee Association Deputy President Rozyman Aidid bin Haji Ibrahim were also present.
