Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar called on the public to donate blood to replenish supply at the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

“Organisers of blood donation campaigns, from the government sector to uniformed forces, non-government organisations, private sectors and higher education institutions, are called on to assist the Blood Donation Centre in its effort to increase the blood supply in the country,” the minister said at the press conference yesterday.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham added that blood donation drives must comply with the guidelines from the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 outbreak.

He added, “The public, who wish to donate blood at the centre, should book slots using the BloodKad app. The Blood Donation Centre is only accepting blood donors by appointments and bookings via the app.”

The blood banks at RIPAS Hospital and Suri Seri Begawan Hospital operate from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, from 8am to 2pm.

At the Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Hospital in Temburong District, the operating hours are Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, from 9am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 3.30pm. The blood bank at Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong District is temporarily closed until further notice.
