Call for COVID transparency at schools

As a mother of three still at primary level, I am concerned over the incidents of COVID outbreaks among students (and teachers) at schools nationwide.

So far, most schools have been doing a good job in the sharing of standard operating procedures (SOPs) through memos and letters sent through the WhatsApp group chats. The compulsory thrice-weekly ART test for students and school staff also brings a peace of mind in efforts to monitor and control the spread of infection.

However, a few days ago, I was surprised to receive a call from my daughter’s teacher informing me to fetch her from school as she was feeling unwell.

It was only during the ride back home that my daughter told me several of her classmates were showing symptoms of infection and advised to conduct another ART test.

I wish the school was more transparent in sharing the information as this involves compromising our health status.

With people now limiting the use of the BruHealth app, it is harder to check for the colour codes since scanning is no longer required when entering public premises.
