Call for Brunei students to apply for Korea scholarship

The Korean government is offering ‘2022 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Undergraduate Degrees’ to one Brunei national interested in pursuing further studies in Korea.

The Korean Embassy in Brunei Darussalam said 125 students worldwide, including one successful Bruneian candidate, have the opportunity to study in Korea under the programme.

The scholarship benefits include full tuition and entrance fee exemption, return air ticket to and from Korea, monthly allowance, medical insurance, settlement and degree completion grants.

The scholarship programme consists of a four-year undergraduate degree course after successfully completing one-year Korean Language training at desginated institutes.

Applicants should be a citizen of Brunei under 25 years of age as of March 1, 2021; have finished or be scheduled to finish high school as of March 1, 2021; and possess above 80 per cent in a grade point average (GPA) of the whole school years of the high school attended or within top 20 per cent among graduates in the same year.

Preference will be given to applicants with good command of Korean or English language.

Application forms must be submitted by October 10.
