Busted: Police foil attempt to sneak in 476 food packages

Bangar Police Station personnel seized 476 packages of frozen food during a patrol of the 23.5km point on the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge on Saturday.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said the packages were found in a vehicle heading towards Brunei-Muara District at 8.44pm.

Several boxes containing beauty products were also recovered.

Two individuals were detained for the alleged smuggling of goods which included Ayamas frankfurters, drummettes and nuggets.

The suspects and the confiscated items were handed over to Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED).

The RBPF will continue to enforce government efforts in addressing issues related to cross-border crimes.
