Brunei Darussalam boxing talent Muhammad ‘Irfan bin Haji Abdul Razak is contributing to the development of the sport following a move to open up his own gym called Muhammad Irfan (Mi) Boxing Gym based in RPN Kampong Pandan in the Belait District on Sunday.

The local star told the Bulletin, “I’m a very passionate man and my main intention of setting up Mi Boxing Gym is to build a boxing culture here and also to be a bridge between cultures.

“I am very blessed to be in a position to do so. I believe Mi Boxing Gym will serve the country long term by not only producing high quality boxers but also by being a health and fitness gym where love, laughter and joy co-exist.”

Muhammad ‘Irfan, who made headlines after signing a deal with Jeff Mayweather of the famed Mayweather boxing family last year, also revealed his intentions to run programmes that will help the less fortunate youngsters.

“Boxing has saved many lives and I want the sport to save theirs too. I genuinely feel that it is my duty and responsibility since I am in a position to do so.”

The training facility, which features a boxing ring and various boxing equipment, accommodates all levels of boxing and ages.
