Build race track for speed junkies

I would like to respond to a letter, ‘Roadblocks needed to stop illegal late-night racing’, published in the Opinion page on April 13.

My experience as a resident of Telanai is that illegal racers don’t just come out in the middle of the night but also around 5am, especially in the current month of Ramadhan.

While I agree with the writer that the authorities need to figure out a way to deal with these adrenaline junkies, I believe it is high time to consider building a race track to keep them away from public roads. Not only would it mean the public no longer has to put up with their shenanigans, it would be a safer environment for them to work through their need for speed.
