Korean boyband BTS will renew their contracts under the group’s longtime label Big Hit Music, the agency announced.
Each BTS member – RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and JungKook – will sign exclusive agreements with the company where they will continue to work on future releases from 2025 onwards.
“With the renewal of their contracts, we look forward to supporting BTS’ group activities expected in 2025,” HYBE said in a statement. “HYBE and Big Hit Music will provide support necessary to continue to expand and elevate BTS’ presence.”
“BigHit Music will take into consideration the military service status of some of the members and plans to sign with each BTS member sequentially,” the notice continued.
“The members currently serving in the military will have completed their military duty by the start of the renewed contract period in 2025.”
Jin and J-Hope are presently fulfilling their mandatory military duties, while Suga joins them in his military service today.
This latest renewal marks the second time the BTS members have extended their contracts with Big Hit Music. The agency also announced a donation – “a gesture of gratitude to BTS and their fans” – of KRW1 billion (USD700,) to the Korean Committee for UNICEF as part of the Love Myself campaign, which launched in November 2017 in collaboration with BTS. – Lina Gapar
