Bruneihalalfoods breaks into Bangladeshi market

During the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah attended a business dialogue; and witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and the launch of Bruneihalalfoods products.

Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin were also present.

At the dialogue, discussions focussed on exploring ways to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Brunei and Bangladesh in sectors such as retail, finance, food industry and halal food sector.

Following the dialogue, Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew witnessed the signing of an MoU between Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd and Zes Trading.

Signing on behalf of Ghanim was Chief Executive Officer Dr Nur Rahman while Chairperson of Vorerpata Group of Industries and Director of the FBCCI Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan signed on behalf of Zes Trading.

The MoU aims to expand cooperation between the two companies through the distribution and selling of Bruneihalalfoods products in Bangladesh.
