A Toy Donation Project, the biggest toys giveaway in Brunei, was held at the Indoor Stadium yesterday, organised by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) Mufeed, Hand-4-Hand and BPY45.

The NGOs collected toys, books, clothing and other children’s items through public donations on December 30 and 31, 2020.

Head of Volunteers of the project Nurhudiya binti Haji Damit said that they distributed over 2,000 coupons to the public to collect the donated toys. Ninety volunteers from various institutions and backgrounds were involved to ensure a smooth run.

“The coupon allowed a family to take eight pieces of clothes, one bag, one pair of shoes, two books and five toys,” she explained.

“We carried out the project called Projek Baju dan Seluar earlier. We collected over 30,000 pre-loved clothes donated by

the public and distributed the items two weeks ago.

“During the distribution, we also sanitised the toys and followed strictly the standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to curb the spread of COVID-19.
