Bruneian elected AFF Vice President

Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan was elected the new ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Vice President during the AFF Ordinary Congress 2022 at Siem Reap in Cambodia yesterday.

Pengiran Haji Matusin will serve his new role for the term 2022- 2026, with Maaike Ira Puspita from Indonesia and Francisco Martins da Costa Pereira Jeronimo from Timor Leste.

Current AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth will be serving in his current role for a second term after he was elected unopposed.

Meanwhile, Chris Nikou from Australia, Viphet Sihachakr from Laos, Datuk Haji Hamidin bin Haji Mohd Amin from Malaysia, Ko Ko Thein from Myanmar and Thanasak Suraprasert from Thailand have been announced AFF council members while Singapore’s Teo Chwee Lian Julie will assume the AFF female council member position.

The elections for the 12 posts were carried out in accordance with the AFF Statutes.
