Brunei Darussalam’s national under-20 team have been drawn in Group ‘H’ table in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers following a draw ceremony held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday.
The Young Wasps have been grouped alongside designated group hosts Thailand, Iraq and the Philippines to determine their path to the tournament proper next year.
The qualifying tournament will be held between September 21 and 29.
The 10 group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance to the main competition which will be hosted by China.
Meanwhile, the national under-17 team have been pooled in Group ‘D’ AFC table alongside Thailand, India and Turkmenistan.
Similar to the under-20 qualifying, 15 spots will be up for grabs with the winners automatically taking their spot.
The teams finishing as group runners-up will be sweating it out for their right to the finals with only five places offered.
The main finals of the AFC under-17 competition will be held in Saudi Arabia.
The qualifiers will be played between October 19 and 27. – Fadhil Yunus
