Despite the challenges faced, the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) will continue to pursue the dream of developing women’s football in the country, said FABD President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan yesterday at a press conference hosted for the United States (US) Sports Envoy Programme for the visiting American football players Amy Allman Griffin and Lorrie Fair Allen, both FIFA World Cup winners.

Responding to a question on the development of women’s football in the country, Pengiran Haji Matusin said, “As an association member of FIFA, we have an obligation to develop football for both genders as well as age groups.”

“Despite the challenges and difficulties we are facing, we are still pursuing the way forward on how to develop the game and encourage women to take up the game. For the time being, it’s still on the drawing board as we are still conducting engagement with women so that one day, we will able to pursue this dream.”
