Brunei vaccine drive inches towards 100,000 mark

Close to 100,000 individuals in the Sultanate have been inoculated under the National COVID-19 vaccination programme, as of July 6.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health (MoH), 99,795 individuals (18.4 per cent) of the populace have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This also translates to 25.4 per cent of the population, eligible to receive the vaccination, have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine.

The breakdown of the total figure shows 65,891 people were vaccinated in Brunei-Muara District, followed by 13,642 in Tutong District, 13,138 in Belait District and 7,124 in Temburong District.

A total of 83,545 individuals have received the first dose, while 16,250 have received their second.
