BRUNEI Darussalam will host ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020 with the theme ‘Together Towards a Next Generation of Travel’ from January 12-16, 2020.
This was informed during the 22nd ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting, 18th Plus Three Tourism Ministers Meeting and the 7th ASEAN-India Tourism Ministers Meeting from January 17-18 in Ha Long City, Vietnam, in conjunction with the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 (ATF 2019).
The future of ASEAN travel will be the focal point of industry conversation and opportunity at both official meetings and a travel exhibition (TRAVEX) at the 39th ASEAN Tourism Forum.
The official NTOs Meetings, Tourism Ministerial Meetings and Associations Meetings will take place from January 12-16, 2020 while TRAVEX will be held from January 14-16, 2020, followed by Post ATF Tours from January 17-18, 2020. The ATF 2020 is projected to receive 1,600 delegates comprising ministers and officials, exhibitors, buyers and media.
The official meeting venue will be at The Empire Hotel & Country Club and the TRAVEX Venue will be at the Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BRIDEX) Centre in Jerudong.
During the closing ceremony of the ATF 2019, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Nguyen Ngoc Thien handed over the ASEAN Tourism Chairmanship to Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong. The ceremony was held at Halong Bay Golf Clubhouse on January 18.
