BRUNEI Darussalam is expected to experience slightly lower rainfall in February and March.
This was revealed during a briefing by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) on the preparation for the dry season at the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC).
The meeting was chaired by NDMC Director Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said.
The meeting identified steps of preparation for agencies in facing the dry season and dry weather, including forest and grass fires.
The meeting also discussed logistic preparation and personnel for the dry season as well as efforts to raise public awareness on the impact of dry weather.
Personnel from district offices, Radio Television Brunei, Fire and Rescue Department, Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (EMAS), Forestry Department, Public Works Department, BDMD, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, the Heart of Borneo Centre and Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd were also present.
