Brunei team join international Go competition

The Brunei Go team participated in the Southeast Asia Online Friendship Games hosted by the Thailand Go Association on April 24-25.

The international tournament saw participation from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. They competed in two categories – Low Dan and High Dan – with 60 players.

The Low Dan Brunei Team comprising Sia Kao Xiang, Zhao Zhengbo, Michael Chen, Haidar Muien and Ko Sung Min finished in fifth place.

The High Dan Mixed Brunei Team comprising Chin Sin Voon from Brunei, Niu RuiHan from Singapore, Huynh Nhat Tan from Vietnam, Chitsanupong Subtanikul from Thailand and Soon Deuk Kim from Korea finished in fourth place.

Lim Zhen Yang, 12, who is 6th Kyu will be representing Brunei in the 10th Ilyo News Cup International Children’s Baduk Championship 2021 from May 5-June 20 and the 41st World Amateur Go Championship in Vladivostok, Russia from June 2-9.
