Brunei sends three officials for Indonesia workshop on preventing radicalisation

Three officials from the Prisons Department left the country yesterday to attend the Regional Workshop on Preventing Violent Extremism in Prisons in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from October 8-10.

They are Prison Officer Shaminan bin Haji Munap, Chief Prison Officer Roslan bin Manap and Assistant Counsellor Fariszal bin Haji Ali.

The workshop aims to help Southeast Asian countries raise awareness and knowledge on international standard and best practices in preventing radicalisation and violent extre-mism in prison.

Present at the Brunei International Airport to send off the delegates were Commanding Officer of Maraburong Prison Institution Phase 1 Prison Superintendent Salman bin Siggar and Commanding Officer of Maraburong Prison Institution Phase 3 Nordin bin Haji Hamidon.
