Brunei Darussalam continued to record a downward trend with an average rate of 578 new COVID-19 cases per day compared to 628 last week.

This was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the COVID-19 press conference yesterday.

A total of 62,148 ART test results were uploaded to the BruHealth app within one week, of which 6.4 per cent were positive. Meanwhile, 537 new cases were reported yesterday, 532 of which were detected through antigen rapid tests (ARTs) and five from 211 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

There are no cases in Category 5 requiring treatment in intensive care unit, and five cases in Category 4 are under close monitoring and requiring respiratory assistance.

The minister added, “As of August 7, the coverage rate in the Sultanate with three shots of COVID-19 vaccine remained at 75.6 per cent, while 7.8 per cent had received the fourth dose.”

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham also urged the public to continue helping the government to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in the country by uploading their ART results onto the BruHealth app.

Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the Ministry of Health Dr Hajah Lailawati binti Haji Jumat was also in attendance.
