Brunei records one new COVID-19 case

Brunei Darussalam recorded one new imported COVID-19 case from India via Kuala Lumpur yesterday bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 188.

There are three active COVID-19 cases receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre.

The latest information of COVID-19 as of noon yesterday was shared by Ministry of Health (MoH) in a press release.

Case 188 is a man aged 35 years that arrived in the country from India via Kuala Lumpur on February 19 on board Royal Brunei Airlines flight BI874. Contact tracing is being conducted.

The MoH obtained 792 samples for testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours and carried out 104,081 tests since January 2020.

Some 675 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 14,081 have completed their stint since March 2020.
