Brunei records no new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam marked 167 days without local transmission of COVID-19 yesterday and sixth consecutive day of no new cases in the country, keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 147.

Out of the total number of confirmed cases, six are imported, and one active case is currently receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre, a press release from the Ministry of Health (MoH) stated yesterday.

MoH has taken 124 samples for SARS-CoV-2 virus testing in the past 24 hours, bringing the total of tests carried out since January to 65,207.

A total of 261 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad, while 7,150 have completed their mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres since March. also revealed that there have been 114 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 27 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
