Brunei records no new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam recorded no new COVID-19 cases yesterday keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 256.

Eight active COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong District.

The country recorded no local transmissions of the virus for 413 days.

The latest information of COVID-19 as of noon yesterday was shared by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in a press release.

The MoH obtained 635 samples for testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours and carried out 138,402 tests since January 2020.

Some 788 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 20,326 have completed their stint since March 2020.

According to the MoH’s statistics, as of June 22, 69,877 individuals have been vaccinated under the COVID-19 vaccination programme with 46,602 in the Brunei-Muara District, 9,165 in the Tutong District, 9,630 in the Belait District and 4,480 in the Temburong District.
