Brunei records no new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam entered its sixth day without new COVID-19 cases yesterday keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 174 with two active cases receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre.

The country recorded no local transmissions of the virus for 257 days.

The latest information of COVID-19 as of noon yesterday was shared by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in a press release.

The MoH took 350 samples for testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours and carried out 87,561 tests since January 2020.

Some 668 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 11,395 have completed their stint since March 2020.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 139 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 29 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
