Brunei records no new COVID-19 case

Brunei Darussalam did not record any new COVID-19 case yesterday. The total number of cases remains at 141.

This was highlighted by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference at the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday.

The Minister of Health said, “Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new COVID-19 case in the country. Therefore, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141.”

He said, “There are no cases that recovered today, and the total number of recovered cases remains at 136. This brings the number of active cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre to four, where two are still in critical condition. One requires heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance and one only require respiratory assistance. The rest are in a stable condition.

“Hundred and one individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) and 2,578 individuals have completed their quarantine. In the past 24 hours, 329 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 17,221.”

In its breakdown of COVID- 19 cases in the country, revealed that there are 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, Belait District 25 and Tutong District six.
